Volunteers

Circle of people

We welcome volunteer "Play/youth workers" to help children and young people with learning and/or physical disabilities and/or autism and their parents to have fun on one evening family support group each week: either Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday evenings, from 6pm until 7.30pm.

Keen to volunteer?

Volunteer contacting us

Rather than send out application forms, we would much rather meet you!  Contact us, and we’ll arrange a time for you to come in for a chat about exactly what’s involved in volunteering with us (it should only take around twenty minutes).  If we’re all happy, then we can go on to explain the paperwork involved and get the ball rolling!

Volunteer training

Private Tutoring

The best way to get to know children and young people attending our groups is to spend time with them in our supervised, supported setting.  We offer lots of practical support to volunteers on our evening groups.  To build on what you learn during our groups, we have regular training sessions too.

*5.3.24 Because our evening groups are family groups with parents present, we need less volunteers than we used to.  Our groups can't be too busy, because this becomes overwhelming for some children.  We currently have enough volunteers for these groups, but keep checking back here if you're keen to volunteer.  If this box has disappeared, we're recruiting volunteers again!*
